Livestream

For those who will not be able to attend Convocation in person, we will be livestreaming the event via YouTube. Watch below or click on the video to join the live chat on YouTube.

COVID Safety Protocols

As announced in our recent COVID update, Convocation and the following reception will be masked events in order to reduce transmission of COVID-19.

All graduates, their guests, staff, and faculty will be required to wear a mask throughout the event, including during singing portions. Graduates will receive specific instruction during rehearsal about what this will look like when crossing the stage. This policy is in line with current policy for both McMaster Divinity College’s building and for the wider McMaster University campus.

During the reception, masks may be temporarily removed while eating and drinking, but must be replaced when finished. We are coordinating with Catering Services at MMU to ensure that the food provided will be such that guests can easily serve themselves and eat while maintaining a safe distance from each other.

Multiple spaces for eating will be provided throughout our building and we respectfully ask that guests use these additional spaces to avoid crowding.

Graduates and their guests should complete the Ontario COVID Self-Assessment prior to arrival. We ask that if you experiencing symptoms of COVID-19 or are required to self-isolate based on your results, please join the event via livestream instead.

Ordering Regalia

Students in master’s and professional programs (MA, MTS, MDiv, Graduate Certificate, Diploma) will be provided regalia for the ceremony which will need to be returned at the conclusion of the evening.

Doctoral students (DPT and PhD) have the option to purchase or rent regalia. Many graduates choose to do so to prepare for future teaching positions.

To purchase regalia, please contact Felice Bianchini at Harcourts and she will be able to provide you with ordering and pricing information. Be sure to place your order sooner rather than later so as to allow adequate time for tailoring and delivery.

If you are planning to rent regalia, please indicate this when you RSVP for the event (above). Please note, we have a limited number of gowns available for doctoral students so they are available on a first come, first serve basis. Contact Students Records for more information.

Directions & Parking

The venue for the ceremony is located directly across from McMaster Divinity College’s building. To view the campus map and parking options, click here. McMaster Divinity College is #17 on the map and L.R. Wilson Hall is #74.
