We are already back for our March Linguistics Circle this week, Thursday, March 2, from 7-9pm as usual. For this meeting, Dr. Stanley Porter will be presenting a paper entitled “Karl Bühler and the Prague Linguistic Circle: An Unappreciated Story.” Bühler was a German psychologist and linguist who primarily taught psychology/psychiatry, but also did work in linguistics, including having an influence on the Prague Linguistics Circle. We anticipate an interesting discussion on this figure, who Porter states is underappreciated.
As we have done throughout this year, we will be meeting at the College (Board Room), as well as on Zoom for those who are unable to join in person. And as usual, all are welcome to join for a pre-meeting dinner on campus at 5pm (meet in front of the Board Room). For those who have not participated yet but interested in participating—all are welcome—please contact Dr. Dave Yoon (email@example.com) or email CBLTE directly (firstname.lastname@example.org) for access to the paper and/or Zoom link. We look forward to another fruitful discussion!
