End: 02:00 PM

Our final NT Guild meeting of the semester will be held on next Tuesday, April 5th at 1:00 pm.

Our guest speaker will be Dr. David Yoon. He is one of our recent graduates (2019) whose dissertation, “A Discourse Analysis of Galatians and the New Perspective on Paul,” has been published by Brill. He has also authored and edited numerous publications. He is currently a lecturer in Greek at MDC and an adjunct Instructor at Emmanuel Bible College, as well as the lead pastor of Good News Church in Cambridge.

The topic for our meeting will be: “The Scholar as Pastor: Relationship of Scholarship and Pastoral Ministry.” Many of our PhD students/candidates are trying to figure out ways to bridge the gap between ministry and academia, Dr. Yoon’s experience as a pastor with a PhD in New Testament will significantly broaden our understanding of how academic work can help not only in the seminary context, but also in the ministry context.
