Start: 01:00 PM
End: 02:00 PM
The NT Guild will meet on Tuesday, October 18th at 1:00pm this month.
Our speaker for this meeting will be Dr. Elizabeth W. Mburu. Some of you may already be familiar with her through her book, African Hermeneutics. As you may guess from the title of her book, Dr. Mburu’s area of expertise is related to contextual hermeneutics. She has also done research in the Johannine corpus. The topic of our meeting will be: “Biblical Studies and the Majority World.” Our goal for this meeting is to raise awareness about the current situation of biblical studies in the majority world and to challenge each one of us to connect with and learn from our ministry colleagues in the majority word. Dr. Mburu is Associate Professor of New Testament and Greek at Pan-Africa Christian University in Nairobi, Kenya. Dr. Mburu also serves on the editorial teams of the Africa Bible Commentary. She is also the Africa Regional Coordinator for Langham Literature. We will benefit greatly from her experience both in the US and Africa.
