The MDC Practical Theology Guild will meet on Tuesday, October 17th at 1pm EST with Dr. Esther Lightcap Meek as our guest. We will be discussing the practical theologian as artist and the role of creativity in practical theology. Her latest book, Doorway to Artistry: Attuning Your Philosophy to Enhance Your Creativity, has just been released and will form much of the conversation.
If you’re not familiar with her work, please check out A Little Manual for Knowing or Longing to Know: The Philosophy of Knowledge for Ordinary People. Or watch this short video (22min) from Wipf & Stock: Meet Esther
She’s got a practical and joyful approach to knowing that I think will be inspiring for us.

The Practical Theology (PT) Guild is a monthly Zoom meeting open to all MDC students and faculty interested in Practical Theology. The PT Guild offers an opportunity to meet outside our regular curriculum to discuss various topics concerning being a good PT scholar. Topics include practice-led research, qualitative research methodologies, theological reflection methods, publishing, current developments in the field, job market and applications, and more. We plan to meet 3 times per semester and once during the spring term. If you would like to receive the Zoom meeting links and email reminders, please contact Elizabeth Millar.
