At this month’s guild meeting we will be speaking with Rev. Dr. Helen Collins, Tutor in Practical Theology and Director of Contextual Training at Trinity College Bristol. We will be speaking with Dr. Collins about the use of scripture in practical theological research, theological reflection methods, and how to write faithful theological work that is understandable to God’s people in the pews. If you would like to engage with her recent book, Reordering Theological Reflection: Starting with Scripture, before our meeting, it is accessible via the Digital Theological Library.

The Practical Theology (PT) Guild is a new monthly meeting open to all MDC students and faculty interested in Practical Theology. The PT Guild offers an opportunity to meet outside our regular curriculum to discuss various topics concerning being a good PT scholar. Topics include practice-led research, qualitative research methodologies, theological reflection methods, publishing, current developments in the field, job market and applications, and more. We plan to meet 3 times per semester and once during the spring term. Please join us!
