At this month’s meeting, Dr. John Swinton will be the guest speaker for the PT Guild. Dr. Swinton is a Professor in Practical Theology and Pastoral Care for the School of Divinity, History and Philosophy at King’s College University of Aberdeen and founding director of Aberdeen Centre for Spirituality, Health and Disability.

Please join us as Dr. Swinton talks about practical theology and disability, along with the growing interest among practical theologians in using qualitative research methods with overtly theological intention.

The Practical Theology (PT) Guild is a monthly Zoom meeting open to all McMaster Divinity College students and faculty interested in Practical Theology. The PT Guild offers an opportunity to meet outside our regular curriculum to discuss various topics concerning being a good PT scholar. Topics include practice-led research, qualitative research methodologies, theological reflection methods, publishing, current developments in the field, job market and applications, and more. We plan to meet 3 times per semester and once during the spring term.  If you would like to receive the Zoom meeting links and email reminders, please contact Elizabeth Millar.
