Hojoon Ahn

Adjunct Assistant Professor of Global Christianity

Hojoon earned his PhD in NT studies at MDC. He published his dissertation titled Finding Synoptic Gospels’ Construction Process: A Comparative-Linguistic Analysis of the Eucharist and Its Co-texts (Brill, 2024). He has also authored several journal articles, including “A Textual-Critical Study of Luke and Verbal Aspect” published in BAGL 11, with more works forthcoming. He is an NT adjunct professor at Sungkyul University, Soongsil University, Sungkyul Theological College, and Soongsil Cyber University in South Korea. He has also joined McMaster Divinity College as an adjunct professor for the MA course on “Global Christianity.” His research has primarily focused on New Testament Studies, with a particular emphasis on the Synoptic Gospels, Greek grammar, linguistics, and ecotheology. Prior to his academic career, he served as a chaplain officer in the South Korean Air Force for five years. Hojoon is married to Kyungjin, and they have three children, Yerang, Yejoon, and Yebon.
