About
Emmanuel Bible Church is an independent evangelical church founded in 1964 (the same year as Tim Horton’s Donuts). The church was established for three reasons:
1. To testify to the saving power of the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ, to the glory of God;
2. To build up the saints for the work of the ministry;
3. To promote the spreading of the Gospel at home and abroad.
We are a multi-generational church committed to helping all persons know Jesus and grow in His grace. The church is governed by the congregation, led by a team of deacons and staff, and driven by a strong base of volunteer ministers. Pastor
Andrew Bunner began serving among us in April 2023. Part-time staff include an administrator, a treasurer, and two
custodians. Membership is approximately 140 persons and our average weekly attendance is about 200. Sunday mornings begin with corporate worship, followed by Bible classes for all ages. Our main weekly meetings include Fusion (grades 7-12) on Tuesday evenings, prayer on Wednesday evenings (all ages are welcome), and Olympians (grades JK-6) on Thursday
evenings. Several smaller groups meet during the week for prayer, Bible study, and fellowship, whether at the church or
elsewhere. We are learning to be more welcoming to visitors and desire to be more active in reaching our neighbours with the love of Jesus. Our current facility was built in 1989 and will soon be receiving some exciting upgrades which should help us to faithfully serve our Lord and our town well into the future.
