Job Title: Director of Women’s and Family Ministries
Reports To: Director of Worship and Discipleship Ministries
Hours/Week: 20, with potential to grow into a full-time position.
The mission of Grace Valley Church is to train and equip vibrant disciples of Jesus Christ who are Clear Thinking, Deep Feeling and Humbly Serving, both God and neighbour. The right candidate will be committed to the creative implementation of this vision in the areas of Women’s and Family Ministries.
Scope of Position:
The Director of Women’s and Family Ministries would be directly responsible for the day to day work of:
Women’s Ministry Team
Grace Kids Ministries
Provide guidance and direction for existing Women’s Ministry Team and support them in their efforts to mentor, disciple and shepherd the women of Grace Valley Church.
Provide or facilitate care, support and ongoing training for the members of the Women’s Ministry Team.
Identify, raise up and equip potential new Women’s Ministry Team members.
Lead biblical studies, theology or ministry skills classes for the women of Grace Valley Church.
Collaborate with the Director of Worship and Discipleship Ministries in the task of shepherding, discipling, and providing spiritual care for the women of Grace Valley Church.
Provide input and guidance to the Leadership on how to maximize the ministry gifts of the women of Grace Valley Church in ways that are in line with our denominational standards and the mission of GVC.
Oversee the Sunday operations of our Grace Kids Ministries. Providing support for volunteer staff and parents, as needed.
Organize and distribute weekly Grace Kids curriculum and materials to teaching volunteers in a timely and organized fashion.
Become familiar with Plan to Protect and administer training to Grace Kids volunteers as needed.
Interview, vet and train new Grace Kids volunteers, as needed.
Schedule Grace Kids volunteers in 3 month blocks.
Basic Skills and Qualifications:
A deep and growing love for Christ and his Church and a commitment to the Reformed system of doctrine as summarized in the Westminster Standards
Warm and approachable personality with strong people skills
Passionate about seeing people of all ages grow in their faith
Strong leadership and organizational skills
Servant-hearted, humble, teachable, sees mistakes as opportunities to grow
Collaborates well with others
Theological training is an asset, but not a requirement; must be open to receiving theological training and pursuing other professional development opportunities
