LYU Outreach Manager:

Reports to LYU Satellite Director and is accountable to Kawartha Youth For Christ

Salary: $22.00/hour

Hours Employed: 30-40 hours per week

Overview of Position

The purpose of the LYU Outreach Manager role for Lakefield Youth Unlimited (LYU) is to envision, pioneer and develop ways that will connect, engage and disciple youth in Lakefield and the surrounding area. This manager role requires a missional mindset and the ability to oversee and invest into outreach staff while together serving youth and their families in schools, the community and at The Barn.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

Promotion – ensures that the mission, vision, philosophy, and strategies of LYU and Kawartha YFC are being followed

Key Skills: communication, confidence, commitment to task

Ministry Development – ensures that LYU is developing creative outreach strategies, engaging with and discipling youth, meeting family and community needs, developing and growing skilled base programming at The Barn that is consistent with the mission, vision, and strategy of LYU

Key Skills: community focused, creative, flexible, adaptive, collaborative (teamwork), willing to take risk, missional, entrepreneurial, prayer focused

Manage Outreach Staff and Volunteers –  includes staff support, performance management, staff/volunteer training, recruitment, volunteer development, co-leading team meetings, overseeing spiritual development, budgeting, purchasing, marketing communications (web, social media, newsletters), and working with LYU Satellite Director to envision and plan for future direction and programing

Key Skills: leadership, people management, experienced, communication, planning, teachable, leading by example, prayer focused

Fundraising and Partner Development – has the ability to secure and maintain a sound base of financial & prayer partners to a level sufficient to fund the salary and immediate costs of this position; this includes monitoring and oversight of staff as they do the same

Key Skills: relationship builder, communicator, persistence, confidence, fundraising ability, faith in God’s provision, prayer focused
