Pastoral Internship

Details:

• Duration: 4 months (Sept-Dec)
• Salaried position based on approximately 40-hour week
• Remuneration: $20,000CAD
• Accommodations – negotiable

Job Description:

Preaching and Teaching:

• Preparing and delivering sermons and devotionals
• Leading Bible studies, Sunday school, and small groups
• Assisting with discipleship programs

Worship and Services:

• Assisting in planning and leading worship services
• Participating in prayer meetings

Administration and Leadership:

• Attending regularly scheduled board meetings (May and June only)
• Evaluation by the elders near the end of August
• Assisting with communication (bulletins, newsletters, or social media)

Discipleship and Spiritual Growth:

• Developing personal spiritual disciplines
• Reading: Bible plan, a selection of 2 books decided upon at the beginning of the internship, and appropriate material for preparation of messages
• Studying and implementing pastoral care practices
• Meeting regularly with the senior pastor for guidance

Visitation:

• Assisting in visitation of members in hospitals, nursing homes, or their homes in tandem with elders.
• Of neighbourhood – planning and/or executing an evangelistic program in partnership with elders.
