Dr. Gord Heath, Associate Professor of Christian History, will be leading a nine-week study at West Highland Baptist Church (Hamilton, ON). This will take place Sundays evenings, September 15 through November 24, from 6:00 PM until 7:15 PM. Heath will be speaking regarding “New Atheism and a Christian Response.”This course will examine claims often associated with the rise of New Atheism, a movement led by figures such as Richard Dawkins and Christopher Hitchens. The course includes a summary of New Atheism’s claims, as well as presents critiques of core New Atheist positions. Learning how to argue and debate will also be part of the course—and opportunities for hands-on participation will be offered to those who attend.
