Tue, September 10, 2024

McMaster Divinity College is grieved to hear of the passing of one of its alumni and PhD students, Ron Petter.

Ron arrived at MDC in 2005 and graduated with his Master of Theological Studies in 2009. He entered the PhD program the following fall, and was working to complete his dissertation on, “A Pneumatic Two-Step Hermeneutic for the Churches of Christ,” when he had to leave his studies.

Ron is remembered fondly by the faculty with whom he studied. Dr. Gord Heath, Professor of Christian History, fondly remembers Ron as “a good and godly man who was a wonderful student to work with. Ron will be missed.”

A celebration of life for Ron was held on September 8th. MDC extends heartfelt condolences to Ron’s family during this time of grieving.
