WorldVision, an international ministry focused on aiding children, families, and communities around the world through efforts to eradicate poverty and injustice, released their January-February newsletter. Their theme was “Seeking Justice for All.” When approaching the topic of social justice from a scholarly perspective, the organization sought the opinion of Paul Evans, McMaster Divinity College’s assistant professor of Old Testament. He explains, “In the Old Testament law, you get a concern with the poor, the needy, the sojourner or the resident alien, … [which] definitely sets a precedent for the people of God today.” To see a copy of Dr. Evans’ complete response concerning social justice, feel free to see page 8 of WorldVision’s “WorldWatch.”
