Biblical Greek Language And Linguistics: Open Questions In Current Research

Sheffield Academic
1993

The first five chapters in this volume concern the debate over verbal aspect in NT Greek between Porter and B. M. Fanning. There are papers by Carson, Porter, Fanning, D. D. Schmidt, and M. Silva. The remaining five chapters deal with ‘other topics’: Porter on other topics in biblical Greek language and linguistics, J. T. Reed on the discourse analysis of 1 Timothy, P. Danove on the theory of construction grammar and its application to NT Greek, M. W. Palmer on how we know a phrase is a phrase, and M. S. Krause on the finite verb with cognate participle in the NT. The editors have supplied a five-page preface.
