New Testament Guild
September 21 @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm
Welcome to a new academic year!
We are pleased to invite you to the first NT Guild meeting of 2026–2027 on Monday, September 21, from 1:00 to 1:50 pm in the MDC Board Room.
This year’s theme is “From the Guild to the World,” guided by the question: How does New Testament research move from class paper to conference, publication, teaching, and public witness?
Our opening session, “Entering the New Testament Guild,” will serve as an orientation to the NT Guild and to advanced biblical study. Our Guild Chair, Dr. Stanley E. Porter, will moderate a time of introductions and summer updates, followed by a discussion on advanced biblical study and participation in the wider scholarly guild.
Whether you are new to MDC, returning, part of our alumni community, or simply interested in New Testament studies, you are warmly welcome to join us. We hope to see you in person, but if you are unable to join us on campus, you are also very welcome to participate via Zoom.
MDC’s New Testament (NT) Guild is a monthly meeting open to all faculty and students studying or interested in New Testament at MDC. The NT Guild gives everyone an opportunity to meet outside our regular curriculum to discuss various topics concerning being a good NT scholar. Topics include: NT studies, theological education, scholarship, job market and job application, professional developments, and many more. For more information contact Ankit Harry or Aaron Jung.
Passcode: z00m (with two zeros)
We look forward to seeing you there!
