Practical Theology Guild

For the first practical theology guild meeting of 2027 we are excited to welcome Dr. Bonnie Miller-McLemore, the E. Rhodes and Leona B. Carpenter Professor of Religion, Psychology, and Culture, Emerita, at Vanderbilt University. We will be reflecting with Dr. Miller-McLemore on a variety of topics, including her recent research on vocation and calling and her thoughts on the future of practical theology.

The Practical Theology (PT) Guild is a monthly Zoom meeting open to all MDC students and faculty interested in Practical Theology. The PT Guild offers an opportunity to meet outside our regular curriculum to discuss various topics concerning being a good PT scholar. Topics include practice-led research, qualitative research methodologies, theological reflection methods, publishing, current developments in the field, job market and applications, and more.
