Adjunct Professor
Born in Meaford, ON. Grew up in the local Disciples Church / Church of Christ. Educated at Abilene Christian University; Knox College, Toronto; Union Theological Seminary in Virginia; Ph.D., University of Toronto. At the U of T, a student of J. W. Wevers, in Septuagint Studies, his area of specialization. As a graduate student, spent a year in Armenia working on manuscripts at the Institute of Manuscripts, the Matenadaran, Yerevan, and since that time has continued to do research in Armenian Bible studies. A critical edition of Armenian Job appeared in 2006. Most recently completed the volume(s) on Job for the Society of Biblical Literature Commentary on the Septuagint (in press). Current project is a critical edition of Armenian Deuteronomy, near completion. Has been Adjunct Professor of Old Testament and Hebrew at the Divinity College since 1992–1993. Lives in Barrie, chaplain at Grove Park Home for Senior Citizens for more than thirty years. Married to Elaine; three grown children. Claude and Elaine worship at Westminster Church, Barrie, where, among other things, he teaches a Thursday morning Zoomer Bible study. Hobbies include bird-watching; reading detective novels; travel.
