Dudley A. Brown

Dudley attained a Doctorate in Historical Theology at MDC in 2022. He is an assistant editor of MDC’s Journal of Post-Christendom Studies and co-editor, with Dr. Gordon L. Heath, of the book The Black Baptist Experience in Canada. In addition to authoring multiple papers in upcoming edited volumes, Dudley is currently preparing two books for publication. The first is his doctoral research, which investigates the life of Rev. William Andrew White Jr. and his role in the African Canadian community and broader Canadian culture. The second examines the history of the first Black Baptist churches and the unique origins of their communities in the Dominion of Canada. In addition to researching the issues of church and culture in today’s society, Dudley will explore Black Baptist associations nationwide regarding their formation, aims, and interconnectedness.
