Fady Mekhael

Fady Mekhael is a Coptic Egyptian whose research focuses on Luke-Acts, Second Temple Judaism, atonement theology, and early Jewish understandings of sacrifice. He completed his Ph.D. in New Testament and Second Temple Judaism at the Religious Studies department of McMaster University in 2024. He works as a Bible translation consultant with the Canadian Bible Society, and teaches New Testament courses at Tyndale Seminary. As a Research Fellow, he is working on developing his dissertation into a book, focusing on the role of atonement in Luke-Acts within ritual world of Second Temple Judaism. His scholarly publications include the chapter “Colossians and Philemon: A Coptic Egyptian Perspective” in The New Testament around the World: Exploring Key Texts from Different Contexts (edited by Mariam Kamell Kovalishyn; Kregel, 2025). He also served as an editor of the Arabic Study Bible.
