Isaiah C. Padgett

Isaiah Padgett is a PhD student at McMaster Divinity College. His research centres upon Old Testament ethics and the book of Ruth. Within the field of Old Testament ethics, Isaiah is primarily concerned with the topics of economics and ecology, particularly in how such topics are communicated within Scripture and how this might impact Christian responses to contemporary challenges. Additionally, he is also interested in theological ethics, political theology, and dialogue between Pentecostal theology and liberation theologies, having presented on and published several journal articles on these topics.

Isaiah is passionate about theological education—both in the academy and the local church—and believes that confessional, academic research can and should be seen as vocational ministry. He has established and been involved in local church education for many years and focuses upon integrating his scholarly work with his local church ministry. Originally from the USA, he and his wife Rebecca are avid nature enthusiasts, and they both enjoy traveling, gardening, and caring for their two pets, Luma and Ziva.
