Ji Hoe Kim

Research Fellow

Ji Hoe completed his Ph.D. at McMaster Divinity College under the supervision of Dr. Stanley E. Porter in 2024. His dissertation, Moral Formation in the Letter of James: A Way Forward for Structural Analysis in Light of Systemic Functional Genre Theory, is his primary focus for publication during this fellowship. Throughout his academic journey, he has experienced moments of serendipity in writing articles, book chapters, and even his dissertation—a blessing he attributes to God’s guidance. Alongside his role as a Research Fellow at MDC, he has begun his teaching career at Ezra Bible Institute for Graduate Studies in Korea. Ji Hoe is married to Sion, and they have two children, Peace and Caleb. He likes running. Running a full marathon is one of the items on his bucket list. Since 2009, he has served as a youth pastor at several churches in Korea and Canada, driven by a deep passion for shaping Christlikeness in the minds of teenagers.
