We are pleased to invite you to our next NT Guild meeting on Monday, January 19, 2026, at 1:00 pm (Toronto time). This winter, we continue our yearly theme, “Hermeneutical Crossroads: Exploring New Testament Methodologies.”
We are honoured to welcome Dr. Roy Jeal (Professor Emeritus, Booth University College; Research Associate, Vancouver School of Theology). Roy will guide our conversation on “Socio-Rhetorical Criticism / Socio-Rhetorical Interpretation (SRI),” reflecting on its development, key contours, and its promise for New Testament scholarship. We hope this will be a rich and collegial time of learning and discussion together. You can join us in person or via Zoom.
MDC’s New Testament (NT) Guild is a monthly meeting open to all faculty and students studying or interested in New Testament at MDC. The NT Guild gives everyone an opportunity to meet outside our regular curriculum to discuss various topics concerning being a good NT scholar. Topics include: NT studies, theological education, scholarship, job market and job application, professional developments, and many more. For more information contact Ankit Harry or Aaron Jung
