Requirements for Master of Arts (Theology & Ministry/Counselling & Spiritual Care/Global Christianity)
1. Agreement with the MDC Statement of Faith
2. Personal Statement
3. Official transcripts for all post-secondary education (in original sealed envelope or official digital transcript)
4. Three references (no relatives)
References must be confidential. Please forward the appropriate reference form link to your referees who will complete the form for direct submission to our Admissions Office.
5. Additional Requirements for International/Visa Students
- TOEFL Certificate (minimum 92 IBT) if English is not your first language
- Official translation of foreign documents, including transcripts (WES evaluation may be requested)
NOTE: Students who do not possess passports from North American countries must pay a processing fee of $125.
International students who intend to relocate to Canada will also be require the following:
- Proof of financial support as required by Citizenship and Immigration Canada
- A copy of your Canadian study permit will be required before registration
*A late fee of $50 will be charged to applicants after June 1 (Fall semester), October 15 (Winter semester), or March 15 (Spring semester).

Requirements for Master of Divinity/Master of Theological Studies
1. Agreement with the MDC Statement of Faith
2. Personal Statement
3. Official transcripts for all post-secondary education (in original sealed envelope or official digital transcript)
4. Three references (no relatives)

6. Description of your past work experience, ministry and leadership experience, and other studies/certifications
7. Master’s thesis or writing sample in your proposed area of specialization
8. A one-page description of the topic you are considering for your dissertation project/practice
9. $100 non-refundable application fee

7. Curriculum vitae that lists your past education, work experience, professional accreditations, publications, ministry and leadership experience, ancient and modern language proficiencies, and honours
8. Top 3 McMaster Divinity College faculty members by whom you would like to be mentored and brief description
9. Master’s thesis or writing sample in your proposed area of specialization (minimum 10,000 words)
10. A one-page description of the topic you are considering for your dissertation
11. $100.00 non-refundable application fee. Apply by December 1 for Fall entry and save on the application fee.

Requirements for Graduate Certificates
1. Personal Statement
- Briefly describe your Christian experience, ministry involvement, and reason for pursuing a graduate certificate at MDC.
2. Official transcripts for all post-secondary education (in original sealed envelope or official digital transcript)
- Completion of an accredited bachelor’s degree (preferred)
- In the absence of a bachelor’s degree, provide transcripts for any other post-secondary education or high school transcript (must be over the age of 25)
3. References

A late fee of $50 will be charged to applicants after application deadlines:

Spring Semester March 15International applicants are eligible to complete the Certificate program remotely. In-person study dependent on approval by Immigration Canada.
