McMaster Divinity College is seeking an enthusiastic and driven employee who is committed to providing excellent service to current and prospective students. The Financial Aid Assistant should possess strong communication skills, a dedicated sense of professionalism, excellent organizational abilities, and a passion to provide caring service to students.

Job Description

The Financial Aid Assistant serves current and prospective students by assisting with a variety of financial aid matters, including OSAP and other provincial loans.

Start Date: May 1, 2025

Type: Part-time, hourly (17.5 hours/week), in office

Work Hours: Negotiable

Reports to: Director of Admissions & Financial Aid


Responsibilities:

Financial Aid

  • Monitor financial aid email account and phone, responding in a timely and professional manner
  • Work with OSAP to confirm student enrollments, provide student updates, etc.
  • Keep organized record of digital student files
  • Data entry for MDC financial aid
  • Provide excellent service to prospective and current students
  • Other financial aid matters as required

Student Records

  • Train as back-up to assist with student records matters during peak registration times

Finance Office

  • Train as back-up to assist with basic finance matters including bank deposits, journal entries, data entry, cheque preparation, and electronic payments

Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree
    1-2 years of administrative experience
    Proficient with use of Microsoft Excel
    Excellent interpersonal skills
    Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
    Agreement with MDC’s Statement of Faith
