Position Overview
The Youth Ministry Intern will serve under the supervision of the English Pastor and in collaboration with the DJ Campers Ministry Team to provide a safe, Christ-centred, and engaging summer experience for youth at NTCBC. This role includes leadership and oversight of the Discipleship-Junior (DJ) Camp, as well as ongoing involvement in youth ministry programs from June to August.

The intern will help ensure smooth day-to-day camp operations, foster spiritual growth among campers and leaders, and contribute to a nurturing and joyful ministry environment.

Key Responsibilities

1. Ministry Leadership & Program Oversight
●      Provide leadership for the two-week Discipleship-Junior Camp in collaboration with the DJ Campers Ministry Team.

●      Monitor and manage the summer ministry budget responsibly.

● Oversee and train all DJ Camp counsellors prior to camp.

● Implement and uphold all safety procedures, ensuring a secure and caring environment for all participants.

● Support the smooth operation of camp by anticipating and resolving challenges proactively.

●      Conduct staff evaluations and provide constructive feedback in consultation with the youth pastor.

● Foster a positive, Christ-centred, and nurturing environment for both counsellors and campers.

● Prepare, teach, and lead Sunday youth activities (grades 7–12) throughout June to August.

  • Collaborate with the Youth Fellowship Committee to plan age-appropriate lessons, activities, and events that support spiritual growth.

2. Volunteer Care & Team Development

● Partner with the Youth Ministry Committee to recruit, train, encourage, and supervise all leaders, teachers, and helpers involved in the youth and camp ministries.

● Maintain regular communication with volunteers to ensure clarity of vision, provide ongoing support, and celebrate their service.

● Foster a positive, collaborative, and grace-filled team culture, addressing challenges and conflicts biblically and constructively.

Qualifications

●      A committed follower of Jesus Christ with a heart for youth discipleship and ministry.

●      Agreement with NTCBC’s Statement of Faith, mission, and ministry philosophy.

●     Willingness to pursue or currently enrolled in a ministry-related or theological studies program.

●      Experience serving in youth ministry or a related field preferred.
