Faculty and Administration

The Rev’d Dr. Mark G. McKim was educated at the University of New Brunswick, Acadia University, and Boston University, and has twice undertaken sabbatical study as a Visiting Fellow at Regent’s Park College, Oxford University.  He has more than thirty years of pastoral experience, serving churches in Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Saskatchewan, and Ontario.  He has also taught in the areas of theology and church history in Canada, the United States, and Singapore.  In addition to dozens of journal articles and reviews, he is the author of three books:  Emil Brunner:  A Bibliography (the definitive annotated bibliography on Brunner), 1996, a one volume systematic theology in 2008:  Christian Theology for a Secular Society:  Singing the Lord’s Song in a Strange Land, and in 2016, a book on the theology and practice of corporate worship titled Countercultural Worship:  A Plea to Evangelicals in a Secular Age.  McMaster Divinity College Press will be publishing his forthcoming book The Secularization of Baptism.  McKim’s background in both the church and academy, and his twin commitments to local church ministry and the life of the mind as service to God, gives him a rare vantage point from which to address the issue of western society’s increasing secularization and the mission of the church.  Dr. McKim has taught courses on the Life and Thought of C. S. Lewis several times, published a number of articles and reviews about Lewis and presented papers about him at various academic conferences.
