Modified Hybrid courses meet in person and online in an alternating sequence. One week the course meets in person and on campus, the following week the course meets online (either synchronous or asynchronous depending on the course objectives). This pattern allows for some on-campus community time for each course, but also maximizes the benefits of hybrid with reduced trips to campus and the use of online learning strategies.
Be sure to check the dates outlined in your course syllabus as there will be occasions where the course meets twice in person before beginning to alternate to online to allow for Thanksgiving Monday.
In-Person classes meet on campus weekly for the duration of the semester.MA and PhD courses will primarily meet in person through the academic year 2021-22.
These courses will not meet for the week October 26-30 to provide for the Intensive Hybrid on-campus courses that will be operating. Check your course syllabus for details.
Intensive Hybrid courses start online for several weeks, meet for 1.5 days in person (mid-term), and then continue online for the remainder of the term. The class meeting times for the in person days will be 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. (for the whole day) and 9:00 a.m. – noon or 1:00-4:00 p.m. (for the half day).
The Hybrid Intensive Week for Fall 2021 is October 25-29. The Hybrid Intensive Week for Winter 2022 is Feb. 28-March 4.
Online courses meet completely online for the entire term in both synchronous and asynchronous meetings. The synchronous meeting times are scheduled to avoid conflicts with other courses.
MRS is fully asynchronous and there is not a designated synchronous time for this course.
Saturday courses meet in person for four (4) Saturdays throughout the Winter term; and for three (3) Saturdays in the Spring term. The meeting time for the course is 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
In the case of inclement weather in the Winter term, the class will meet in live-streaming synchronous mode.
