McMaster Divinity College awards approximately half a million dollars in financial assistance to our students each year. This money is awarded on a needs basis and does not need to be repaid. Students should apply for financial aid in order to qualify:

PhD students may apply to work as a Graduate Assistant (GA) which pays an additional $4,500, up to a maximum of 10 hours per week (240 hours total). These placements are awarded on a competitive basis to students in good academic standing and are most often awarded to PhD students.
Academic Achievement Awards
MDC awards more than $26,000 in academic awards and prizes each year. Students who show exceptional ability in specified areas may receive additional awards and prizes at the end of each academic year. Please note, Certificate, LOP, and Occasional students do not qualify for these awards.
OSAP Grants & Loans
Financial assistance may be available for those who qualify. Ontario students enrolled in PhD, MA, MDiv, MTS, and Certificate programs may be eligible for grants and loans awarded by the Ontario Student Assistance Program (OSAP). When applying for OSAP, please indicate McMaster Divinity College as your institution. For questions regarding OSAP, contact MDC’s Financial Aid Office at email@example.com.
