  • Requirements for Master of Divinity/Master of Theological Studies

    1. Agreement with the MDC Statement of Faith

    2. Personal statement answering the following questions:

    • What is your Christian experience?
    • What are some of your most significant learning experiences (formal or informal)?
    • What is the nature of your present local church involvement and/or para-church involvement?
    • What are your ministry and/or professional goals and how do you expect to contribute to the church and society through your future ministry?
    • How do you expect McMaster Divinity College to advance your ministry and professional development?

     

    3. Official transcripts in their original sealed envelope from all post-secondary institutions attended (or high school transcript for Cert.C.S. and Dip.Min.)

    4. Three references (no relatives)

    5. Additional Requirements for International/Visa Students

    • Proof of financial support as required by Citizenship and Immigration Canada
    • TOEFL Certificate (minimum 92 IBT) if English is not your first language
    • Official translation of foreign documents, including transcripts
    • A copy of your Canadian study permit will be required before registration

    NOTE: Students who do not possess passports from North American countries must pay a processing fee of $100.

  • Requirements for Doctor of Practical Theology

    9. A one-page description of the topic you are considering for your dissertation project/practice

    9. Master’s thesis or writing sample in your proposed area of specialization (minimum 10,000 words)

    10. A one-page description of the topic you are considering for your dissertation

  • Requirements for Graduate Certificates

    1. Personal statement

    Briefly describe your Christian experience, ministry involvement, and reason for pursuing a graduate certificate at MDC.

    2. Official sealed transcript

    Completion of an accredited bachelor’s degree (preferred).
    In the absence of a bachelor’s degree, provide transcripts for any other post-secondary education or high school transcript (must be over the age of 25)

    3. Two references (1 pastoral, 1 academic or professional)
