MDC Adjunct Professor Hans Förster received the Friedrick Wilhelm Bessel Research Award from the Humboldt Foundation in Germany. The organization provides the award to scholars completing their doctoral degrees less than eighteen years ago who are expected to continue producing state-of-the-art scholarship that has influence beyond their immediate field of work.Recipients are honoured for their research record and are invited to spend a year participating in a long-term research project with other specialists at a research institution in Germany.The Humboldt Foundation grants up to only twenty-five Friedrich Wilhelm Bessel Research Awards each year.
