For many years the bell tower at McMaster Divinity College has been silent. The seminary, located on the campus of McMaster University in Hamilton, rang the bells to signify the beginning of its first chapel service of the year.“There was once a time when every community was exposed to the sound of church bells,” stated President Dr. Stanley Porter. “Just as the church had that visible presence in their communities we too are seeking to be more visible within the McMaster community. Our chapel is open to anyone within this community and we welcome them to participate in the Wednesday chapel services.”The bells will ring at 1:15pm for three to five minutes each Wednesday during the academic year to signify that chapel will be beginning soon – at 1:30pm.For more information on McMaster Divinity College and/or the contents of this release please contact:President’s Office 1280 Main St W Hamilton, ON L8S 4K1 905.525.9140 x. 24401 divinity@mcmaster.caMcMaster Divinity College exists to develop effective evangelical Christian leaders for the church, academy and society through university-level education, professional training and ongoing support.
