This morning, we were delighted to host a team of volunteers from University Technology Services (UTS) alongside McMaster Divinity College staff members to revitalize our west building entrance in celebration of Earth Day. Spearheaded by Derek Konieczny, a UTS staff member and a passionate member of the Halton-Peel Woodlands & Wildlife Stewardship, a local NGO, the project aimed not only to beautify our space but also serve as a learning opportunity on creating a garden from scratch.
Under Derek’s guidance, the volunteers planted a variety of small conifers and a serviceberry tree, strategically framing the engraved name and crest of McMaster Divinity College along the west exterior wall.
We extend our sincere gratitude to McMaster University Athletics and Recreation for their generous donation of the serviceberry tree, as well as to Facility Services for providing the mulch for the project. Special thanks also go to Derek and the entire UTS team for their outstanding organization of the project and hard work in bringing this space to life.
