It is with regret but well wishes that we announce the retirement of Dr. Mary Conway, Associate Professor of Old Testament.

Mary has had a long history with McMaster Divinity College, joining us first as a student and then moving into various teaching positions since her graduation in 2013. After a successful career teaching secondary school English, Mary first completed her MTS degree in 2009, and then went on to complete her PhD in Christian Theology just four years later. Mary was a recipient of the Principal’s Gold Medal Award for academic excellence at graduation.

Throughout her studies at MDC, Mary was involved in various editorial and teaching opportunities, working as a Graduate Assistant and Assistant Editor for the MDC Press. Since graduating, Mary has taught many Hebrew courses at MDC, helping to launch our online offering in 2015. She has also taught numerous other courses in Old Testament.

“Mary has dedicated her life to students, and we have been exceptionally blessed to have Mary on the faculty of MDC. She has been a major contributor to our newly developed biblical language program, a compassionate mentor, and an excellent and innovative scholar. We will deeply miss her positive contribution and wish God’s richest blessings on her future.”
– Stanley E. Porter, President

We thank Mary for her dedication to MDC and for the influence that she has had on all of the students who studied with her and her colleagues who have worked alongside her. Mary’s presence will certainly be missed, but we wish her the very best in her future endeavours. If you wish to pass on your congratulations and farewell to Mary, please email her at conwaym@mcmaster.ca.
