McMaster Divinity College welcomed 93 new students this fall, marking the highest enrollment numbers in recent history.
This year marks a significant increase, with enrollment up 35% over last year and 60% over the year prior. This increase is due to renewed interest in research degrees, with an exceptional group joining our PhD and DPT programs. Professional degrees have also seen substantial growth, due to the launch of the new MA programs in Counselling & Spiritual Care, Theology & Ministry, and Global Christianity. MDC is especially pleased to see the MDiv program showing signs of growth, and new interest from occasional students looking to experience seminary for the first time.
Sara Fusilier, Director of Admissions and Financial Aid, shared her excitement:
“There is something wonderful about the potential that comes with a new academic year! This year, it has been especially exciting to see such a large number of new faces and to hear the stories, goals, and dreams of this new class as they continue their preparation for all kinds of ministry.”
Classes kicked off September 9 in various formats—in-person, livestream synchronous, and fully asynchronous—providing students with a flexible and comprehensive learning experience.
As an institution, we praise God for his provision and faithfulness. Please keep our students in your prayers as they continue in their academic pursuits.
